The 1960’s certainly are an unmistakable era for architecture and Long Beach is fortunate enough to host a number of condo buildings from that time period. In addition to the Continental Terrace Bluff Park is home to a few more wonderful condo developments built in this era such as the Carlton Imperial, Park Royale, and the Galaxy Towers. Each of them have a distinct charm incorporating design elements that are often copied in today’s modern buildings.
With 30 units in total you won’t find that condos become all too often. In a given year sometimes only 1 or two and there are times when one becomes available for rent. To help you decide if the Continental Terrace is the right condo for you to call home we invite you to find out more about the key features and floorplans:
- Heating – Typical of condos developed in the 1960’s you will find that this condo development uses radiant heat. This is important to note as with radiant heat operating off of electricity it can mean larger electricity bills in the winter…although our “winters” aren’t too cold near the beach.
- Laundry – The floorplans are excellent but you will have to do a bit more work on laundry day. No inside laundry here, but there is community laundry available.
Amenities – In the 1960’s the amenities must have been pitched as “the ocean is 2 blocks away” as there aren’t any amenities to speak of. The upside of no pool or spa is the HOA amount is very low (under $200 mo the last time we checked). - Secured Parking – There is secured parking here and the parking does incorporate storage above the parking spaces giving you a bit of extra room for storing essentials. Always check your HOA and Title documents to ensure that your specific unit does have parking spaces assigned.
- Balcony – It’s hard to miss the available balconies at the Continental Terrace. The guard rail of the balcony incorporates a unique circular pattern allowing you to enjoy the ocean breeze. Balconies are a good size and can accommodate a few chairs.
As you are evaluating different condo developments in Long Beach there is a unique aspect to the floorplans of the Continental Terrace worth noting. Initially if you look at what has been sold (and yes we can send you a list of those to help you see the variety of condos) you will notice both 1 bedroom condos and 2 bedroom condos. The exciting part comes in looking at more of the details:
- 1 bedroom/1 bathroom ~700 sq ft
- 1 bedroom/2 bathroom ~790+ sq ft
- 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom ~1,100+ sq ft
It is certainly a rare find when you can find a 1 bedroom condo with 2 bathrooms! The 1 bedroom floor plan that features the 2nd bathroom provides for a en suite bathroom as well as a guest bathroom which is great for entertaining. Being just a few blocks from the Ocean there is rarely a shortage of those who will want to come and visit you.
Condos at the the Continental Terrace don’t come up for sale often which means if you want to live here we encourage you to keep a careful watch…and we can even help with that. While the variety of real estate mobile apps are great to keep track of the new listings on the market let us lend a helping hand as we can even give you more advanced notice than the latest apps.
