325 W. 3rd St, Long Beach Ca 90802

The Californian is a quaint historic building located in the western portion of downtown Long Beach. It often gets missed as many focus on the Wilmore building that is located directly east.  Of course missing this building would be a mistake as it has a rich history and a great location that is only blocks from the beach.

A historic condo in Downtown Long Beach with a rich brick exterior.

At just 5 stories tall it is one of the smaller historic buildings in Downtown Long Beach but it still has much to offer. Built in 1924 it has kept much of it’s character that it was originally built with and boasts a rich brick exterior.

As with many of the historic condos it boasts floor plans that have some variety. The variety of floor plans comes from the long life of the building and gives those looking to make a purchase a truly great opportunity to have a unique condo.  Throughout the 49 condos in total here you will find most floor plans ranging in size from just over 400 sq ft to the larger few that are over 600 sq ft.

History

Joseph Halstead Roberts was the architect behind the Californian. He embodied the 1920’s era and gave the Californian an unique style. Over the years he was responsible for approximately 70 structures throughout Long Beach.
